In my life I've had two girlfriends who routinely shared photos of me with their friends. This was before the days of the internet, so it was a question of them showing actual physical photos. An example of each would be:
One girlfriend was having lunch with a friend she hadn't seen in a year and who had never met me. @constance The one with the restaurant story loved coming home afterwards and telling me about it, which I enjoyed, too. The nurse didn't make a big thing about it, just mentioned it in passing until she came home one day after work to tell me that that day she'd been in the changing room with her locker open, the other nurses were checking out the photos, and she realized a non-nurse had wondered what was going on and had come over to check things out -- only to get a surprise. It was my cousin's wife, who worked as a personal trainer at the hospital gym, and she got an unexpected eyeful of me that day. That night my cousin called on the phone and very nervously asked if I was aware of the photos. A bit embarrassing all around, but at the same time a bit exciting knowing I'd been recognized.
