How old is your oldest friendship?

We were just babies and we were neighbors, three of us. Ended up in the same school and same class. To this day, we are super connected. Our friendship is as old as we are. Always try to be their for each ether. 40+ years now.

@Pomegranates I know it.. 50 years.. She is in care now with dementia, sadly. But is a great place with her own reality, better than I can give her. In yesterdays visit we still get the occasional flash of who she used to be..😷
@whowasthatmaskedman must be painful for you, to see your loved one with dementia.
You seem like a great man. She was indeed lucky to have you too.

@Pomegranates Thanks. We both got lucky. But we worked at it. We shared the same core values regarding how to manage kids, and ageing parents as well as personal priorities. So we were always going to walk the same path. And we made each other better..Of course we fought (She is Scottish) but never over critical issues.. I looked after her for close to ten years, including through Covid. At first, she was good about my caring, because being a nurse, she realised she was slipping. But in the end my putting limits on her caused her to strike out..So the kids intervened.. I am now dealing with a backlog of health issues, while she thinks she is running the place she is in now. Its all working..😷
