If a long term friend started disrespecting you (in real life) out of the blue, how would you deal with it?

I would ask them why and use specific examples of how they disrespected you.
If they apologize, all is good.
If not, I would let it be known that this treatment is not okay.
If still no apology, or they get angry or excuse their behavior, I would most likely end the friendship.
Since it's out of the blue, they may be under some kind of stress, but if that is the case, they should explain that to you when you ask why without belittling, shift-blaming, or disregarding your feelings.
@Justmeraeagain I’ve concluded it’s because of her long term use of Percocet due to chronic pain. I’ve tried talking several times, so I’ve decided to back away slowly and no drama will evolve from this. I’ve already began the process. If I thought for a minute talking would fix it, I’d 💯 pour my heart out but I honestly know in my heart it would be to no avail. It would only dig the many ongoing offenses deeper and cause me more hurt. 😔

That's all too true in today's culture.
