My friends are liberals and I'm secretly a conservative i have to go stealth mode every time

If they found out i was conservative they would not be friends anymore

Shame. I have true friends whose politics is very different to mine, but we stay clear of conversations that might cause a rift. I challenge only if someone strays into racist or similar broad brush assumptions about 'them'. Usually that just brings an 'OK' and refining the comment without the generalisation. I can expect the same if I make a daft comment.
