How should one handle this?

Have a friend overseas that wants to come stay with me. That sounds fun....for how long??? Three months minimum! When are you coming? In March right after the gf and I come back from our cruise and she goes to Arizona to visit a friend then is going to Canada alone to visit her cousins..

He has a visa and borrowed money for the plane but wants to get a job. Trying to care for his mom and younger sister. The dad died some years back. He doesn't have a work visa though. Maybe he can get some kind of work permit? I know nothing about this stuff and getting an immigration lawyer is really difficult and expensive. I know he doesn't have the money for it and is desperate. My gf doesn't know about this yet. Afraid she'll freak.
