As always on this day, remembering my student and friend, Caroline Russo, and all other victims of the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami.

20 years has not dulled the memory or the loss.

Always missed, fondly remembered, never forgotten. x

I remember I was driving somewhere when I heard the first news on the radio, and every few minutes the number of reported casualties would increase exponentially each time... First, it was 100 dead, then 500, then 1000, then 5000... You could tell it was really,really bad by how quickly and constantly the numbers kept increasing...
