My first new post on here in about one year...

(I used to be a lot more active and involved with this place in my mid-to-late twenties (I'm 30 now). Back then, making IRL friends was a major struggle for me because of the elitist nature of the people I was surrounded by in the small town in WNY where I spent a good portion of my life. In other words, unless you grew up in the same neighborhood as someone, went to the same school or church with them for years or worked together with them in the same building for years, they had NO desire to be deeply involved with you.

After a RIDICULOUS number of failures to connect with people my age, I turned to the internet to try to make friends and this place was one of many wherein I attempted to socialize and make connections. However, I eventually grew disillusioned with this place after numerous attempts at conversations with SO many different people over private messaging where eventually the other person just fell off the face of the earth/quit responding)

^ Just on the crazy off-chance anyone remembers me and wonders why the hell I left!

My life is a little different nowadays with probably the biggest change being that I don't live with my family anymore 😂😂 In 2021, I released my first single as a singer-songwriter and an entire album later that year (message me if you want those details!). That same year, I met the woman of my dreams online and in 2022, I moved into her house with her in Northern New Jersey, married her shortly thereafter and became a cat dad in the process, which was totally unexpected but awesome all the same 🤪🤪🙃🙃

All this to say that while I'm in a much better place now than I used to be, I still experience that same struggle to connect with people where I live now. That being said, I'm willing to try this place again as a meeting grounds for new friends, if any of you are in a similar predicament.
