Girl mad at me for telling me her BF should be helping her more?

She is venting not wanting you to fix things. It's a female thing.

This is no judgement but just the truth as I see it. Sounds like you're dealing with an insecure person who doesn't have any boundaries, doesn't mean she's a bad person, it just means it's likely she doesn't know how to set boundaries with someone. So she just wants to talk just to talk, likely without any judgement or advice because she doesn't plan on taking advice as she's not the type for confrontation.

So I have a feeling she just wants to vent but not actually do anything about it. She just doesn't respect herself as much.

I'm trying not to sound harsh though, it's not a judgement, you just have to consider the psychology of the person you're talking to and accept her for who she is because she's not looking for advice.

I find it best not to comment negatively on people's relationships,they can say all kind of stuff,but get defensive if you agree, usually.
It's not logical,but usually how it ends up.
