@helenS There is a radio in my truck and have a clock radio on my bedside table. I never turn either of them on.

@hippyjoe1955 I had a shortwave radio, but that wasn't self-made. Shortwave is much more difficult to make.

@helenS Yeah I loved to listen to the national voices. BBC, Voice of America etc. I would have loved to listen to the Soviet shortwave broadcast but I don't understand Russian.

@Slade That is true. If I have the time and am travelling at night I tune to the AM band to see how many AM stations I can listen to and am often amazed at how far away they are. I was in northern Alberta listening to Flagstaff Arizona. I was in Manitoba and listening to Vancouver BC. So much fun when the weather conditions are just right.
