How old is your oldest friend?

Was out with some friends last night that I've known longer than any of my other friends. One of them said he was 79. 😯

How old were you when he became your friend?
@sree251 20, but that was decades back.

@BrewCityBarfly It's good to have old friends. You are probably around his age unless he was an older guy around 50 when you met him.

Is your friendship with him an ongoing thing or did you run into him again last night after decades?
@sree251 He's a bit older than me, didn't remember how much. We don't hang out as much as we used to, but keep in touch. Last night was a get together with some mutual friends I've known the longest.

@BrewCityBarfly You are a barfly. What do you drink?
@sree251 Mostly beer.

@BrewCityBarfly Which brand?

I used to drink Miller High Life. Now, only imported stuff: Hacker Pschorr, Peroni, Stella Artois, and Pilsner Urquell at the urging of a guy who did electrical work on my house.
@sree251 Primarily Miller Lite, although I will have the occasional craft at home or out. I might start with one craft, then switch to the old standby.

@BrewCityBarfly How many beers do you have on a daily basis? Most guys drink out of habit, and it can become a mindless unhealthy habit. I drink out of habit also but just one bottle in the evening when I am cooking dinner. I picked up the habit from an Italian chef whose fancy restaurant I loved going. He would come out of his open kitchen, now and then, to the bar and fill up his glass from the tap. Now, I open a bottle in my own kitchen when fixing dinner. Dinner would be with wine.
@sree251 I drink almost every day, the amount can vary. For better or worse, it's an integral part of my social life. That doesn't mean I'm drinking to get drunk. It's a reason I primarily stick to lite beers with a lower ABV.

@BrewCityBarfly My mom stopped me from drinking American beers on account of the bad stuff including traces of weed killers. Mass production to meet high volume demand is the problem. It's the same with the other grocery stuff in the stores. It's not just the alcohol. The Brits are downing beers and ales in high volume also.

I enjoy a cold beer; especially now, in the summer. Also, the company even if they are strangers. Going to my favorite bar on Friday nights on my motorbike used to be the high point of the week. Drinking alone in my garden is spiritual also. I swear I could feel God sipping right beside me.
