This guy asked me out and I told him we could only be friends he said well I'm going to be your best friend ever. Does he seem kinda pushy to you?

I'm guessing he's just overenthusiastic about being your "best" friend ever in hopes he can climb out of the friend zone eventually. it is a bit over the top though.
