It's nice to make new friends.

We get stuck in modes as we get older, I find. Modes of being, pathways, ruts; whatever you want to call them. It makes it harder to meet people and make new friends. As a result, when a new friend does come along, it's all the more precious. I appreciate the opportunity. Whether fleeting or long-term, meeting a new, kindred spirit is a gift to be cherished.

Some of the modes which more mature men are in are quite nice, in my opinion. It's because you had plenty of time to find out about yourselves, and check what will and won't work for you.
