@Stereoguy Yes, sugars down from 300 to 100 ,I am not sure what my A1 level is now I see the doctor after Christmas. I do take medication. But, I take my sugar levels daily and when I ate more carbs the sugar levels shot up dramatically.
@Stereoguy not really. I was told though that I would go on insulin if I didn't get my sugars down so that motivated me to eat correctly. I can't say I don't have cravings, but taking my sugar everyday helps ,because I can see how the carbs or sugar, if I over indulgre, make the numbers go up And I don't do anything radical no keto or Atkins. I mostly follow the carb recommendations of the diabetic association, although, I will use some of those (Atkins/,keto/ Paleo) recipes because they fit in to a low carb diet. The only thing I don't do is use low fat or no fat products ,because I don't agree that the fats are the problem ,it's the sugar and the carbs, however, I do try to stay away from trans fats or very highly processed foods. We made a commitment to stay away from fast food as well.
@Stereoguy I have made some pretty good low carb desserts... If you guys have pin interest you could probably find some . I wouldn't do the ones using almond flour or coconut flour they are really really dry. You should probably also stay away from sugar-free cake and cookie mixes they're still very high in carbs.
Two tips ;1. to soften the cream cheese microwave for about 35-40 seconds, but don't melt and 2. then blend ingredients in food processor or blender before putting in pan and cooking.
@Stereoguy I really like them but I am use to the sugar-free sweeteners and it might taste a little different when you're not, but I think you can get used to it. Oh ,and I used Splenda instead of stevia, so I used a whole cup as it didn't change the carb count.
@Stereoguy The pudding has too many carbs for me . Snacks for women are 15 grams carbs total, according to diabetic guidelines, men, I believe is a little higher 😠present company accepted 😂🤞 If I buy the pudding mix and use cream(zero carbs) then I can have it, but milk(1cup) has 11 grams of carbs on its own. 😑
