Does anyone else find it difficult to keep up with others?
I don’t know what it is but I am terrible with keeping up with old friends. I know it’s not difficult to send a quick ‘hello’ or ask how a friend is, but it is all so draining and I feel like a shitty turd because I’m not inclined to.
Just recently, I was asked to reference three close friends that have known me over the last 7 years— people who could vouch for the good citizen that I am… and I couldn’t name anyone.
Do I know people? Yeah. I was close friends with a few people once upon a time but the years keep passing and I’m just not checking in as a friend would. I feel silly for having allowed that to happen because now I can’t even say someone knows me, what I’ve been up to or where they can find me.
