when you don't know anyone

and are cut off and isolated and only have your elderly parents for support? this is me....i'm not looking for sympathy......but i live alone in a small flat...i have had mental problems all my adult life and never established any relationships.....my friends from my childhood, we lost connection, drifted apart....now i have ended up cut off and isolated...and i don't know anyone.

what can i do? i'm in my mid 40s now, so middle aged.

I would pick a hobby then join a group that does that hobby together. It also helps to start frequenting places like the public library. it could also be good to start attending a support group for your particular issues.
