I don’t mind getting roasted by my friends and I often enjoy it. But when it’s done without my presence, it feels different or what do you guys think?

I mean, when done with my presence, I call it friendly roasting and I take it in good faith because I take it that they like me, they like to interact with me, and they’re messing with me lightheartedly just to get a reaction out of me and we’re all happy and laughing.

But if they’re talking about me in such a way while I’m not even there to react… idk, hard to take it in good faith at this point
