It exists, yes.
I find most people approach finding someone in two ways that I think are a bit flawed:
1. Instant attraction: If they don't feel some kind of magic on first meeting, they move on.
2. Shopping list: they have a long list of traits they are looking for.
When you look at so many successful relationships where people met organically, often neither of those two formulas would have worked. Often the attraction grew over time, because you don't really know someone in a first meeting - sometimes you see them over time and they hook into your heart with who they are. And the shopping list - I understand some things you absolutely can't live with, but if it's too long...
Either of those, it's possible you only had a first date with someone who could have been the love of your life.
