Um.... What if my new friend didn't tell me all day yesterday that it was their birthday? And at night they said something about it which seemed like

A joke where they didn't seriously sound like it was actually heir birthday and now I see one of their stories and.... It's a birthday cake?

That means we're not real friends right?

No. That means you're new friends and they thought it would look like "Gimme a gift" if they told you it's their birthday.
[@663519,Mamapolo2016] That crossed my mind, too.

[@663519,Mamapolo2016] that’s exactly what I think

I mean I honestly don't know. If I had a clue how people's minds work I probably wouldn't be on this website.
That’s so childish...lolz

Nah, they probably felt awkward telling you, nothing more. Just wish them a belated birthday and stop overthinking.
No. I'm like that too. It means they didn't want to burden you.

[@1208288,Determined1] 😞
[@1089099,Buildingadoor] that's not bad. It means she's probably a kind and sensitive person.

Idk. For me I'm not big on birthdays so I don't really tell anyone about mine
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
I never make anything out of my birthday and I would feel odd saying to a friend “today is my birthday” because I wouldn’t want them to think I’m expecting them to do something for me

No that doesn't mean you're not friends. I keep my birthday hush/hush. I always hated celebrating it.

My birthday is Friday, some people will do the "Happy Belated" thing. It's all good.

It is tough to get to know one another.
