Cold Shoulder

I know an acquaintance at work, met her last spring and we talked a lot one day. She’s a college volleyball player, and she’s tall and beautiful! But obviously too young for me to date. She just works the weekend shift, whereas I work during the week, but they often have us come in on Saturdays. I said hi to her a few other times last spring and she always responded cheerfully. Didn’t see her at all during the summer.

I’ve seen her a few times since the beginning of September, and things are oddly different now. Whenever I look at her she looks down like she’s trying to discourage me from saying hi. The one time this fall I did say hi to her she kind of smiled but walked away without saying anything.

She’s just an acquaintance and not someone I wanted to date or anything so I’m not really heartbroken, but I just wonder if anyone has any ideas what might have happened?

Also, it hasn’t happened a lot lately, but it seems like I have a history of attractive women suddenly and sometimes randomly deciding it’s too awkward to talk to me anymore. Any other guys have this problem? It would be kind of nice to know that I’m not the only one this weird.

She could just be unsure of you. Makesure she knows that you only want to be friends.

@Lostpoet I guess, but she seemed sure before, wonder what made her unsure? Anyway, it’s pretty rare that I get a chance to talk to her alone, as in not at all yet this fall, and it would be awkward to have to tell her I just want to be friends with other people hearing me lol.
