How old were you when you met your best friend ever? Are you still friends?

I had one I met at 14. When I was 19 life took over and we went separate ways. After life had settled down again at 30, I found her and we tried resuming the friendship. I saw no reason why it couldn't work - we seemed to work the same on that front. But she was having insecurities and projecting those on things I said and did and finally decided she just couldn't be comfortable with me anymore. After a while contact was resumed on facebook and we would now be classified as acquaintances.
