How long on average do your friendships with people last? What's the longest friendship you've had?

@Kaleidoscopieceyes you know i used to think i had friends like that but they didn't hold up against distance, so i think you have it right when you say that they are more like family because i believe that families have a deep rooted connection that keeps them together. I'm not speaking biologically as more in people the individual considers their family.

10 years for me..but those people are not just my 'friends'. We treat each other like a family. I have other Friends that I've known for my whole life but sometimes, distance and communication could really affect on what we used to be.

Four years seems to be it. Life takes us all in different directions and we don't always get a chance to meet up again.

The longest.... maybe several years? But on average, they seem to be getting shorter as I get older :/

@MrsGearHead4 isn't that alittle harsh? XD Life isn't so simple if you ask me. Just because a friendship dies doesn't mean it was never genuine.

@EightDown 4 years is about it for me too. And definitely a reality about life. I used to consider it a sad one when I was younger, but now I'm more accepting of it.

Depends. I had a best friend for 6 years

I've had the same best friend for over 20 years

@MYzery that's awesome. I've always wondered what it's like to know someone like that. Like someone who remembers things about you from 20 years ago or even just mutual childhood experiences. Yeah parents remember stuff but i don't think it's totally the same.
