I Drink Straight Whiskey

I seem to be holding it together with coffee, whiskey, and some really good hair spray.

I enjoyed a couple glasses of Sazerac Rye on the rocks last night. 馃
No hair spray though. lol

I love a Sazerac cocktail. I like to make them when we have a hurricane warning.

Have to admit, I don't know a lot of men who use hairspray!

@LipstickandHeels: my hair would be everywhere without it
Balvenie and Macallan are my favorites. Grangestone is pretty good!

Haven't heard of Grangestone. I'll have to give that a look!
@LipstickandHeels: Worth a look!

@yeronlyman: Interesting that you should say bourbon. I live in the southern part of the U.S. where bourbon is king. Rye has northern origins (I grew up there) especially the closer you get to Canada. I find the bourbon a bit sweeter than the rye (corn vs rye) and don't care for it as much. My favorite winter cocktail is a Manhattan, which should ALWAYS be made with rye, but in the south they want to make it with bourbon. I have been known to lecture a bartender or two...

Jameson is lovely. Haven't had any of that in a while. My current favorite "splurge" rye is some small batch stuff made by a company called Hudson in upstate New York. It's divine.

@LipstickandHeels: My thoughts, and location are almost the reverse, lol. I live in Canada and have a preference for bourbon, which isn't as popular here as rye. I do love a good rye, Rittenhouse is my current choice of that spirit, but my first love is bourbon.
