Omnis asking me cute questions when I tell them I'm vegan

At a company luncheon, my specifically prepared vegan dish comes out. There's a new actuary at the firm sitting beside me and she asks if I'm vegan "by choice." Like duh it's a choice, there's so little medical reason why someone would be forced to adopt a vegan diet lol. But the innocent naivety of the question makes my heart melt, and I have to pretend that it doesn't to avoid appearing condescending.
