I am Vegan

I've been vegan for twelve years and if anyone asks me the reason I politely explain my views to them. Society generally tends to condemn bullying and emotional abuse, but if the subject happens to be vegan, there is suddenly an unofficial free pass floating in the air for anyone who wants to take it. I have had someone thrust a piece of bacon in my face and yell, 'go on, you know you want some!' I don't. If I wanted to eat it, I would. Having someone trying to make you a spectacle and feel like shit in front of others simply because they don't agree with your personal choices in life is pathetic. If you are vegan who had to deal with this then you are obviously not alone. I feel strongly that one day, if not in my lifetime, the world will find itself a much kinder place than it was, and it will only start when fools realise that other fellow human beings are not here to be bullied either physically or emotionally, and that animals aren't either.

plants have been shown to react to music and emotion they make you feel better when you are sad they provide us nutrients, they help one another and they feel pain, they tell us when they are suffering, which is why i count all humans animals plants and insects as equal in the eyes of the universe and are all okay to eat. and one day when i die i hope to be dined upon by animals and plants as i have so enjoyed dining on them.

Good luck with that.

@asmallstone: that seemed mildly sarcastic.. do you not respect my beliefs? even so i still respect yours, even though plants are just as alive and aware as animals.

@xSharp: But you do realize that you are actually consuming more plants than your average vegan? Those animals you eat don't live off of air, they eat plants (or should I say kill ?) So when eating meat you are also agreeing that all the plants' lives that have been taken are justified. I mean sure I hear cabbage screaming every time I chop its part but that's the circle of life, eh? Do you see how ridiculous this argument sounds? There is a sentience hierarchy and you can't compare eating cucumbers with eating a dead animal. I don't care whether you are vegan or not but I just can't help but respond to this ridiculous argument. *Plants do not feel pain* they don't have the mechanism for feeling pain. They can respond to stimuli but they *do not feel pain*. Once again I don't care if you are vegan or not but don't use that argument, it makes no sense.

@Originalme: vegans are taking part in genocide by choosing only to kill poor defenseless plants 😔 eat some sharp clawed or horned animals too or be evil unhealthy scum forever especially cows they kill so much grass that they deserve to be eaten twice as much!.. besides i also eat carnivorous predators like pickerel :D .. and yes plants DO feel pain, look it up. defending vegan-ism is like defending smoking, it is unhealthy immoral and it kills the helpless people who cant stop because they just feel soooo damn coool doing it. 😕
