People can and do, of course. I sure did, for the first 28 or 9 years of my life. Just about everyone who has stopped eating the meat of animals when they do not [b]need[/b] to in order to thrive and survive, did so even when they [b]knew[/b] that animals [i]they[/i] wouldn't want to harm were what they were eating.
