Any tips for a first timer? I’ve been wanting to try it and make a change for myself. [I Am a Vegan]

So Monday I watched some videos on YouTube about being vegan or how to be vegan. I wanted to try it since I need to be careful with my health because diabetes runs on both sides of the family so that’s my reason for it. Yesterday I did not have any meat at all I wasn’t so bad. I have had meals with no meat before so it’s not that bad. I mean I can’t guarantee that I’m gonna stop eating meat altogether but I can still have it once in a while.
So can vegans have meat once in a while or not at all? Appreciate it. Thank you. 🥑🥗🥙🌯🥕🥦

I am a vegan mostly for the sake of the planet so I’d say every bit helps. You get to make your own rules. I haven’t missed meat and I’ve discovered a whole new world of flavourful foods.
@SW-User That’s cool. Yeah we don’t have to have me all the time which is what I was told. I mean I kind of knew that but I thought that we were supposed to have a during our meals. But I don’t eat steak or chicken, or pork that much. I want to just eat healthy foods no meat at all but I’ll try.

@CraftyMarieArts protein isn’t really a big deal because it’s in lots of things. You should get a B12 supplement. I take the under the tongue kind and it tastes like candy.

Lentils are awesome. No soaking required and you can make dal with Indian flavours or chorizo style.

I make queso and sour cream both out of raw cashews. I always have a jar or two in the fridge.

I haven’t gone much for the meat or cheese substitutes but those are widely available and make switching pretty easy.

I could go on all day. Falafel are handy. See, I can’t stop. If you want meal ideas just ask.
@SW-User Those sounds really cool. I’ll let you know if I have questions. Thanks 👍🏾😎
