Depends on the person's biology, some with auto-immune diseases can only eat meat with supplements. Unfortunately also, we lack the enzymes to convert vitamin A effectively from many sources and cows tend to do that for us, which is why most of our vitamin A that is bio-available comes from other animals.

So it's a bit of both really, if it works for you then good for ya.
I don't do well without meat though personally (tried it).

@Ryannnnnn Plus if we are all vegan then we end up killing voals and other wildlife in order to make space for the growing of crops in order to sustain so many vegan diets, destroying habitats.
So we leave a mark no matter what we do really..tis the circle of life.

@Ryannnnnn Beta Carotene converts it just fine, though I'm no scientist:

@Ryannnnnn Not trying to fight but just wanted to mention that if you really believed in the circle of life we shouldn't have any hospitals then. I know you're going to say we NEED hospitals vs. veganism but the circle of life includes death by natural causes whatever those may be. Those in the past who lived the "circle of life" the REAL way died horribly.

@SatanBurger I'd have to re-watch the scientist who explained it as I can't remember the specifics either. Beta carotene was brought up but they said the issue was that we'd have to be constantly eating flax-seed oil all day in order to be at the same levels in relation to meat. Something to do with the bio-availablity/conversion of what we'd actually get out of it.
Don't quote me on that though, it'd be a bad quote lol.

Well i'm not an absolutist, it's just a loose saying referencing to the fact that living things would be consumed or displaced in this case regardless of intentions. So it's almost like we can't avoid the nature of consumption. If we wanna grow more crops to avoid killing animals, we end up displacing them and destroying habitats.

@SatanBurger If we had those machines in startrek that can manipulate matter and 3d print food that'd be pretty dope.

@Ryannnnnn I'm going to bed in a few so I can't find it right now but there's a million ways to plant farm versus animal agriculture.. which ALWAYS ends up in killing far more forests. Plants can keep the soil from eroding and other good things.

Well you can overdose on animal vitamin A so I don't really worry about it. The plant form is non toxic. It's a question on if you really need "that" much vitamin A vs. how much one really needs and vice versa. I suppose I don't know that question off the top of my head.

I do know that 104 year old vegans would have died a long time ago if that was the case, maybe as a vegan it's in what you eat with other foods and the like? I don't know.

@SatanBurger Greenhouse skyscrapers/towers would be a pretty cool idea, just grow upwards. Though that'd use a lot of energy, could use solar power but I think the issue with it is that we haven't been able to develop batteries large enough to hold an efficient amount yet.
We could do it now but may as well try not to use fossil fuels.

Yeah i'm sure it's very possible, just might be confusing to find out how to restrucure your diet. I think that's the off putting part. Or maybe we're all thinking about it too much.

@Ryannnnnn Probably thinking too much about it. When I overthink it, that's when I get stuck. Then again, I know some keywords for easy recipes, I'm sure that others do not. I have a bunch of recipe ebooks that I get off known vegan YouTubers sites that are pretty awesome and cheap. I specifically look for ones that are less ingredients etc.

Or I'll search in google and just make a few recipes each week (2 or 3.) Divide that number to make bulk and throw in a few smoothies here and there and I'm good to go 👍
