It's probably one of the easiest, most self-centred ways to find a delusion of self-worth.
TonyPajamas · 22-25
@SW-User nope, not really. It’s good for the environment and animals.
SW-User
@TonyPajamas Plants are sentient up until the point that they're eaten, numerous critters are killed by farmers every day, and thanks to companies like Monsanto, superbugs are now ravaging our planet's vegetation. The state of global food production in general is not ideal, but unless your eating fair-trade, hand-picked, organic vegetation, you're still creating an unnecessarily negative impact on the environment and animals.
TonyPajamas · 22-25
@SW-User plants don’t have the consciousness to realize what is going on, so it’s not exactly the same thing. Most of those issues are caused due to over population. Farmers are having to feed more people than they can handle, hence them using methods that cause superbugs and other issues. It doesn’t take away from the immorality of factory farming and the pollution that it causes. At least vegans cause less pollution, which is better than any person eating meat and dairy can say.

@TonyPajamas I don't think that's accurate, mushrooms have more in common with human DNA than mice. I think the bottom line is that plants are living organisms, and it's hypocritical to draw the line at animals. The carbon pollution caused by the agricultural sector might mainly be created from factory farming, but saying you cause less pollution, is like men telling women they cause less pollution because they don't use tampons, or make-up as prevalently, it still creates pollution. I just don't understand how people can take these subjectively ethical stands, and believe it makes them better. I suppose it's an all, or nothing mentality, but to be honest, I think it creates an unnecessary amount of anxiety; the sustenance of an animal, often spells death for another organism. So why not just implant our human consciousnesses into eco-friendly robotic husks, and restrict the population level? Unless you're willing to go to that extreme, I wouldn't bother bragging.
TonyPajamas · 22-25
@SW-User I’m not bragging. The point of Veganisn is to LESSEN pollution and the abuse of animals. Of course you can’t competely get rid of it all but at least you are making more of an impact than someone who doesn’t do anything.
SW-User
@TonyPajamas The point of robocracy is to ELIMINATE pollution, and make the galaxy a better place!
TonyPajamas · 22-25
@SW-User I understand you want to pretend that I’m the asshole because I choose to put the environment and animals before my own desires. But don’t come here with some irrelevant bullshit.
SW-User
@TonyPajamas I'm not pretending you're an asshole, I'm just saying it's somewhat delusional and hypocritical to draw these lines, when one can always do more. I believe it is relevant, animal organisms such as humans need to consume other life sources to survive, the ultimate form of veganism would be an android culture.
TonyPajamas · 22-25
@SW-User making up an unrealistic scenario really isn’t an argument.
SW-User
@TonyPajamas It's an easy segway into tier 2, if not tier 3 civilisation; this is the forseeable end-game of civilisation according to scientists. The singularity is predicted to occur within the next 30 years, so I don't believe it's unrealistic, so long as human level AI surfaces within the next decade.
TonyPajamas · 22-25
@SW-User okay whatever lol this wasn’t the subject but okay I really don’t give a shit about that.
SW-User
@TonyPajamas It's the primary objective of humanity to reach tier 1 civilisation (IE planetary control) in order to avoid extinction, I'm not sure how anyone could care less about this, as it would be a invaluable asset to all life on our planet.
TonyPajamas · 22-25
@SW-User well I was talking about veganism 🤷‍♂️
SW-User
@TonyPajamas And I'm proposing a higher form of ending pollution and suffering for the planet.
TonyPajamas · 22-25
@SW-User lol okay whatever bro
SW-User
@TonyPajamas Maybe you just try to annoy people regardless of your veganism. 😘
TonyPajamas · 22-25
Annoying is a natural trait of mine. Even before I became vegan. @SW-User
