Do you eat the tails of the shrimp?

They're actually not that bad

Shrimp are bottom-feeders, which means a shrimp hangs around on the ocean floor eating whatever falls it's way. The only stuff that falls to the ocean floor is dead matter or fecal matter from fish and aquatic life.

The reason dead matter and fecal matter falls to the ocean floor is because neither contain oxygen once they enter the stage of self-decay during the decomposition process.

What this means is, shrimp eat 'dead matter' and extract from that dead matter the very last traces of life that remains within that decaying matter.

If you believe that "You are what you eat", then you become what a shrimp is if you eat shrimp after it's finished eating what's lying dead on the ocean floor.
