Fresh starts .. Hello November
Today is my last day before I go on PTO for the rest of the week and then I am with the new team!
I have to present today some training materials for my old team (so stupid that now they remember when I said I will leave, oh but can you do this) and eh I pushed myself so hard ti get this presentation done and have not even practiced it... I am soooo checked out! I can't wait to get done with it today as it is officially my last task in this team..
What is really surprising me is that throughout my life, everytime I made a career move, I questioned myself a ton.. looked back and wondered if this is a good move and if I should have chosen to stay, and looked forward with anexiety at my new role and wondered if I will make it..
Not this time! I could not be more confident that it is the right move, that I don't want to stay in this team and that I will do just fine in the new role..
Which is weird.. given that this time is actually a bigger move as I am changing my career... I will be doing different things I haven't done before.. yet.. no reaction.. but confidence and excitement to end the current chapter and start the new one..
I feel maybe my experience immigrating to Canada and doing so well career wise has equipped me with more security and confidence overall that I can handle? Could be..
Also.. Despite having many successes within my current team, the past period has sucked (I didn't realize though how much, until I felt very good about leaving) and I started disliking the culture of the team and the way it is run and got very demotivated and I am someone who runs on motivation.. On the other hand, the new team offers a vibrant culture and really good vibes that I could feel. I like the manager and we are so much alike in terms of passion, mindset and work ethics and I could tell and feel it.. ans the job itself just offers amazing experience in this age of AI..
So yea.. maybe for the first time I am reasonably reacting and recognizing good from bad and not letting the illogical emotional state of big choices control me and let it beautify what I would not have liked to continue if I did not have the choice to move or leave.. we always start romanticizing things when we know we will lose them.. but not this time actually
So yea... can't wait to get through today to be officially done with that chapter..
