Potato struggles

On my way back home and after that painful morning fall, I swear I was literally terrified to walk back from the station, as I stepped out of the train. I thought now it is even worse, because it is dark, so I won't be able to be cautious even if I wanted to. But there was salt allover the roads and no ice left while it was still snowing. Except on the grass, there was some left, and I felt it the minute I stepped on it, but even if I slip there, it is not as bad.

I guess because I left my house fairly early in the morning, they hadn't gotten rid of the ice yet. when I reached home, I put on my hiking shoes as I wanted to grab food.. and then I was able to have a potato confident walk, even in areas that were slippery, it wasn't bad and I could control my steps. Yea, it was a scary fall, I thought I won't be able to walk again out of how much my back hurt in the moment.

Yeah, ice is literally a killer. When I lived in Germany we got ice every year and just walking to get in your car to then slip and slide all over the roadways, was dangerous.

What I quickly learned was to never go out without wearing my hiking boots... they had rubber soles with an aggressive tread pattern.

If I was going to work I wore those and brought my work shoes with me to change when I got there.
