Why did you buy a coffee machine that uses pods!?
Crazy bad for the environment...

@AntisocialTroll Many of these pods can be recycled actually. Zoom in the pic, it is recyclable
My machine uses pods as well as coffee grounds. But pods are easier to use.

@BittersweetPotato Stick to grounds, far better for the planet.
BittersweetPotato · 31-35, F
@AntisocialTroll what would make them better if these can be recycled!!
AntisocialTroll · 56-60, F
@BittersweetPotato It isn't all about the ability to recycle, it's the complete waste of energy that goes into first making the pods and then the waste of energy in having to recycle them.
I'm sorry but pods are bad for the planet regardless of if you can recycle them.

@AntisocialTroll I am sorry but there are way worse things and more impactful environmental problems than the pods. Number one on the list is animal agriculture but then I find people freaking out about pods that can be recycled.
AntisocialTroll · 56-60, F
@BittersweetPotato Just because there are worse things doesn't make pods a good thing...
BittersweetPotato · 31-35, F
@AntisocialTroll I think you cannot live a perfect life with no environmental footprint . A recyclable pod has way less impact on the environment than eating meat but I don’t see any of you talking about that
AntisocialTroll · 56-60, F
@BittersweetPotato I don't disagree that none of us are perfect, I'm just genuinely surprised you'd choose to use a coffee machine with pods is all, it doesn't fit my perception of you.
BittersweetPotato · 31-35, F
@AntisocialTroll Why are you making it seem as if you discovered i am a murderer? Lol I bet you my environmental footprint is at minimum and as compared to the bulk of the people is lower due to just diet. Which is all we need to do really. Just minimize our impact but will never eliminate it, and the way to do that is to care about the biggest factors and not fuss about each and every factor as it will be a never ending process. You on the other hand, are fussing about recyclable pods while ignoring other things that have way bigger impact and are making it seem like this should be the centre of attention, exactly what the animal and dairy industry love to do to divert attention from the real problems that will actually make a big difference.
AntisocialTroll · 56-60, F
@BittersweetPotato I'm not ignoring anything, I'm just really surprised you use pods is all.
BittersweetPotato · 31-35, F
@AntisocialTroll I don’t think there is any cause for that surprise. Again, i am using recyclable pods, I didn’t murder anyone
@BittersweetPotato @AntisocialTroll I don't know how genuine this is, but it could be of interest to the two of you:

@EarthlingWise That doesn't compare non pod using coffee machines with the pod ones, the non pod using machines have the same advantages as the pods but without the waste of energy and materials that go into making pods.
@BittersweetPotato Quite why you keep bringing murder into the conversation is bemusing to me, at no point have I compared you to a murderer but to me using pods is no different than using paper plates to eat off when you are at home because it's more convenient, I personally find it unnecessary and wasteful.

@AntisocialTroll I am not interested in continuing this argument or even reading the responses. You are coming across as very judgmental for someone who is ignoring the bigger picture and is fussing about smaller things as though we are going to be perfect.
