Feteer meshaltet

I want to try a vegan version ofFeteer meshaltet this weekend.. and if you want to know what it is research it because it is too complicated to describe lol

The first time I remember eating it was from a stand on road between Alexandria and Cairo... it was to die for! They had it with some sort of chesse and some with honey.

The next time I ate it was at a small coffee shop in Alexandria, then I had it a couple of other times at different places, but the best I ever had was at the little farmer's roadside stand on the way to Cairo.

It could be made with oil or even Miyoko's or Earth Balance plant based butter, but I'm not sure it would be as good.

@Ontheroad That sounds lovely! You are making me want to visit Egypt. I, myself, don't know what's it originally made with, ghee or butter. It wasn't something that my mother made for us, probably because she didn't come from the farmers areas where this is a common pastry. I might try with vegan butter and I love the taste of vegan butter! I am sure it will be tasty because potato made it 🥔😚
