Google tells me it's similar to a croissant dough but it looks more similar to a thicker version of flaky pastry to me, which is it?

@AntisocialTroll Your question is soo complicated, aren't croissants and flaky pastry similar? 🥔😅 I mean both are layered

@BittersweetPotato Sorta but they have different textures and taste different. Croissants are made with puff pastry which is a type of flaky pastry that's drier and more dough like than what we would call flaky pastry.

Have you ever had a vol au vent? That's what we call flaky pastry.

I love flaky pastry, you can buy both flaky and puff pastry ready prepared if you ever wanna compare the difference without going through the faff of preparing the dough for yourself.

@AntisocialTroll it's not a flaky pastry, not really, but it's not a real puff pastry either. It's kind of in between the two, if that makes sense.

@Ontheroad Okay, that does make sense as it did look different to what we call flaky pastry and different to puff pastry but now I get it, cheers for that.
