There could be exceptions, like potato 🥔🤷🏽‍♀️

I have found work culture in Canada to be way better than where I come from.

I have to say, generally, Canadians tend to be humble people especially relatively speaking to where I come from.. over there, I seriously needed to tiptoe around managers to not hurt their ego (only if a manger was nice enough, others I'd hurt their ego on purpose lol), and the minute they sense that you know something about the job you are doing (as you should!!), they'd get butt hurt 🥔🤷🏾‍♀️

I am sure there are people like that here, in fact، I have one manager sorta like that lol but it is not the norm or the common thing like back there, and even this one, he is not as bad as the ones I've seen in my life.. Usually I detect that trait or attitude in people right away, it took me some time to see it in him.. it is because it isnt as bad or obvious..

As for most people I encounter here whether colleagues or clients, ah there is just ease in communication because I know I won't get misunderstood if I disagree or voice out an opinion.. people don't show off their knowledge in that ridiculous manner I am used to and are generally humble.

Like this is my first time to work in this particular type of organisation. Where I used to work is a lot smaller and waaaay less regulated... So, I went in knowing that there will be a lot to learn, in addition to not working in Canada before to begin with. Part of the reason I was stressed about this job! (Wasn't as challenging as I thought!). I am working with managers who've been working for this particular employer for so many years, so their experience is definitely much higher than mine in so many aspects, yet they are totally appreciative of my opinions and own experince, involve me in decisions, ask for my opinion, and have no problem to admit they are wrong. Additionally, acknowledge good work when they see it, and make sure to let you know it too. In other words, they build up your confidence, not try every way to smash it! Of course it is not all perfect, people aren't perfect, but I am just talking about the general atmosphere.

This attitude would rarely be spotted where I come from. I remember when I switched firms, so it was not even that big of a change, I was working in the exact same industry, same methodology and really same everything just the name of the firm was different 🤷🏽‍♀️ the manger had to remind me daily that I am new and will need to learn a lot as in I know nothing (although there was nothing much to learn other than their very simple software because I was going in with a lot of experience) and kept urging me to ask for help over and over again when I didn't need it. Had I needed it, i would have asked for it 🤷🏽‍♀️ And when I didn't ask for help, he took it personally and became too shitty lol. Probably one of those who needs to be needed to feel good, and I knew it. I could've bombarded him with silly questions and asked him to show me the way 🥺 but noo.. That one I used to take pleasure in making him feel stupid at every opportunity! He even removed me from Linkedkn later, it is how I knew he was really pissed at me lol.

Sometimes I felt that they looked for dumb people to surround them as opposed to good employees. Whereas the normal thing is that you'd look for someone good to support you so that they don't burden you and you can rely on them 🤷🏽‍♀️ People here are generally just too busy and are minding their own sh!t and would appreciate a good employee who would just get the job done while involving them the least. (The normal thing, what else would you ask for, from an employee?) Over there people are also too busy, but they are not minding their own shit but in fact are minding others' lol and they like to be surrounded by a bunch of dummies who would make them feel like the smartest person in the room pfft.

No generalization intended, but I've worked with ALOT of managers due to the nature of my job, and I am describing the typical Arab Manager. There could be exceptions, like potato 🥔🤷🏽‍♀️
