The younger accountant gaga
So I started reviewing some technical content related to my profession.. it is because I need to sharpen my skills for when I am in the job market again, and the fact that opportunities would be a bit wide open, makes me feel that there is a lot to review and be aware of..
I was looking for courses last week, but found them ridiculously expensive.. and the thing is, I am always willing to pay when it is an investment in my knowledge and skills, I mean, I am sort of a nerd. BUT I know that they are bullshit.. You overpay for someone reading the slides.. Having gone through many courses, the most that have helped me, were the ones where the the minimum was provided, and I had to do most of the work...
Only then I remembered, wtf, I didn't even pay for courses when I was studying for my accounting qualification and actually taking exams. I am going to pay now when i only want to revise and refresh!!! I just remembered that I used a free website which is absolutely AMAZING.. I can't believe that it was completely free and really good that I could pass my exams on first attempt, while others overpaid and still failed.. I mean I literally got qualified for free, without exaggeration.
So now I just revisited the website after I have looooong left it... Oh, I have to say, i feel a bit nostalgic and sad.. Idk it just reminded me of days when I was very active, motivated and determined, and when life at home was good and bearable. They were good days, and believe it or not, it reminded me of EP. It is because I had it open daily, while EP was open on the other tabs.
I really love those days, even though I worked my as* off during them. My job was very demanding, and my exams were just as demanding. My life was study and work. There were so many days when I had to choose between eating or sleeping because I didn't have time for both! But I loved every second of it. Going back to the website, I can see all the posts and questions that the younger Gaga made.. Makes me realise, I was so freaking invested in this... and I hope I could get to push myself a little bit and to retrieve that spirit I had, because I really need it in this transitional period.
I really love that website, and I wish quality education was made available to everyone. I found a donate button, and will definitely make a contribution, because it helped me when my resources were not much.
