I need the recipe. How do you make them so thick?
SW-User
2 eggs
1/2 cup regular flour
1/2 cup fine semolina flour
2/3 cup milk
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar or sweeten to taste
vanilla + pinch of salt

Mix

I poured the pancake batter in a pancake pan (with circles in it) and cooked them on low heat

serve with syrup or honey + butter

What makes them round & thick is the deepish circles of the pan

@SW-User Thank you. I've saved the recipe. I've never thought about getting a pancake pan. I usually cook mine on the griddle.

You're welcome. The pancake pan makes all the difference imo. Just choose one with some depth if you like your pancakes on the thick side. Also you might adjust the amount of milk based on the consistency of your batter because different flour brands vary a bit. Might need to add more or less 🥞

@SW-User Is it hard to flip them with a deep sided pan?
SW-User
Kinda needs some practice I'd say.
I put a big dish on the pan and carefully flip it. Then return the pancakes individually to their places in the pan again. Might lose a bit of batter in the process but not much 😅
I imagine you can use a small spatula or two spoons or if you're a pro just flip them in the air lol

@SW-User I'm definitely not a pro. I'll stick with the big dish method. LOL

@SW-User I made Scots pancakes and they are thick like that.
SW-User
@JimboSaturn Do you use a pancake pan. I’ll have to Google it.
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
@SW-User No I just used a frying pan. Normally my pancakes don't look thick like that, only the one time I made Scots pancakes, I can't remember the recipe for that.

I used to make blueberry pancakes.
