Best Jam Ever?

Don't know who made this (except that it says Tassos and that it says imported from Greece), but thank you.
This is the most delicious jam/marmalade I've ever had. It's got tiny pieces of figs and it's not too sweet. I had a little dollop on a couple of rice cakes this morning.

@HannibalAteMeOut Sounds so good!

@Scribbles it's one of my favourites because like you said it's not too sweet. You can try it on some bread with cheese too.

@HannibalAteMeOut Putting it on rice cakes sounds a bit sacrilegious to me (though not as bad as pineapple on pizza😉). But my very good friend @Scribbles has a habit of mixing and matching all kinds of food stuffs🤷‍♂️

It's got be psomi or koulouri, maybe with some kefalotirri.

@room101 🤣😂 Yes, I definitely enjoy mixing and matching foods. It's good this time, I promise. Lol

@Scribbles Freshly baked crusty bread, you heathen🤣🤣🤣

You know that I love you really, right🥰

@room101 Bread? 🤔🧐
You mean tortillas right?

(I say that in jest because I recently learned that tortillas will soon be the top most selling bread product in America-and also because I own a tortilla press. )

Love you too, my friend, no need to guilt me into eating freshly baked bread🤣🥰 (does it have to be crusty though?)

This is making me laugh so hard today.

@Scribbles Oh please don't tell me that you're one of those philistines that cuts the crust off of bread.🤣🤣🤣

And yes, the bread does have to be crusty. Trust me, the crust on Greek bread is a thing of joy, bliss and happiness.

@room101 I've never had the crusts cut off. I've had delicious freshly baked bread with a nice thin crust that is really really good-but I wouldn't describe it as "crusty" lol. But unless you buy at a decent bakery or make your own I think bread is either overbaked or something here. Because most breads have too thick and hard of a crust and it's unpleasant and almost inedible.

I'll take you at your word that Greek bread is amazing. 😄

@Scribbles The bread here in Barcelona is like that. Crust that you could knock someone out with. Their bread is often quite dry and has next to no flavour. Bakeries on almost every street but no clue on how to bake bread. It's very disconcerting. I tend to only buy baguettes. Well, that's what they call them here. Not a touch on a real baguette🤷‍♂️

Very glad to hear that you don't cut the crust off lol.

@room101 It's not bread without crust. 🤷‍♀️

In fact, is it cake if it has no crust?🤔

I've never had luck with baguettes except at a couple french and italian restaurants. I buy pumpernickel bread a couple times a year because one can't screw up the crust on a dense brick like that tbh. I sometimes make my own bread rolls and I make a good rosemary focaccia bread. I'd love a bungeoppang pan someday when we have a child. The first time I had breakfast at my Mother-in Law's, she made us each one-they have crispy outsides and are sort of like fish shaped bread with a filling. They are so cute and yummy and a childhood breakfast treat of my husband like crepes or pancakes.
