Define 'science'. Don't look it up online....from your own brain, define it. [I Love Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream]

"Science vs religion". "Scientists say...." "I believe in science, not fairy tales."

People who use words should be able to define those words, especially people who rage using those words. Simple matter....define the word.

@Wateribbon What's the question?
Wateribbon · 26-30
@uncleshawn you asked science vs religion

@Wateribbon In this post I @Wateribbon In this post I am asking for just one thing: a definition of 'science'. Only that. ....A discussion of "science" vs "religion" is an extremely difficult thing to do well because most people will use terms that are unexamined and ill-defined, rely on assumptions they are not even aware of, immediately get off a simple line of reasoning to multiple lines of thought that are incoherent and muddled because the primary line of thought was not dealt with first, ignorance of rules of logic, insincerity to seek the truth instead of to just please self, etc.

But maybe you can start a post about something in that area -- science vs religion. It is a false dichotomy. Might be interesting. You seem like a more thoughtful person than most on the site. Wanna start a thread for that?

@uncleshawn there’s no such thing as ‘science vs. religion’

Science cares not one jot about religion.

Religion brings nothing to the table, and science therefore has no interest in it (although some neuroscientists may have an interest in the neurology driving the infection)

@newjaninev2 That debate is muddled by all sides, using bad definitions and hidden assumptions. THus the avoidance of it here.

@uncleshawn
That debate

What debate? What are the different positions, and what do they bring to the table?

bad definitions and hidden assumptions

For example?
