What can I double dip ya? [I Love Ice Cream]

Humphry Slocombe's Secret Breakfast. Made with Whiskey and Cornflakes.

Sounds odd but it'll make you feel as if an angel used your whole face as a glory hole.

You had me at whiskey,
Bratt · F
@Callmewhatyouwill Oddly adds an incredible flavor to ice cream. I guess I enjoy whiskey effects cuz I need'a good amount of chasers..lol 😖
@Bratt I've added it straight on top of ice cream before. It is a nice mix.

But I do love a good whiskey anyway so I may be bias

@Callmewhatyouwill Hmmm.. I'll have to try that. Crisp bacon is pretty good dipped in whiskey as if we're sauce.

Have yet to master however a poker face with a straight up shot.
@Bratt beat way is more expensive whiskey. There some Japanese stuff that goes down like water, bit I can't remember the name.

Bourbon is best for ice cream. Don't know why.

Try adding honey and whiskey to bacon. That shit's on point

@Callmewhatyouwill Interesting. My budget pretty much keeps me mid shelf prolly.

Wow...the honey aspect does sound good.

I'm facinated by mixology and the complete concept of bartending. I experiment quite often.

My regular go to is Half a Corona, tequila poured in with orange juice and grenadine. Way yummy.
@Bratt i bartended for 10 years. Mixology is over rated. Keep it simple and balance flavors and you'll never go wrong.

A good mixed is your chosen liquor, doesn't matter ginger beer splash of lime to taste. Maybe a bit of Cran if you're in the mood. It's never a bad drink.

I've seen that before, basically a tequila sunrise with Corona for fizz

@Callmewhatyouwill Humph... Interesting take upon drink makin'.

I've no proper experience so thanks for well earned advice.

I can legally seek a bartender spot now and will do so part time once all this Covid- crap gets figured out.

I think making drinks is just as much of a draw for me as the psychological part of bartending.
@Bratt honestly that's probably the least important part of the job. Anyone can learn to make drinks, 90% of the time it's all basic shit and beer.

The hard part is doing that while also being the psychologist, best friend, matchmaker, cock blocker, baby sitter, police officer and janitor all at the same time. In typically 10-12 hour shifts without breaks.

The odd part is you want to be slammed doing all those things at once, otherwise your not making any money. It's feast or famine, made as little as $7 a shift and as much as $3k a shift.

It's very much a lifestyle

@Callmewhatyouwill So very cool...thanks for taking the time to share that with me.

Have forever been facinated by what goes on in our heads to result in who we are. Social Psychology major as a result of THAT thinking.

Bartending places you in a perfect environment to discover perhaps what books on the subject can't teach you.

I pretty much just try to remember basics of drink ingredients so that I could make any well know kinds with confidence.
@Bratt it's an excellent place for that kind of education. And would definitely be an asset for that major.

That's all you need to know, and the beauty of it is most drinks have their ingredients in the name. Get verses in the 3-5 most popular shots in your area same with specific cocktails and you're all set. Eventually you have your go to drinks for when you get people who don't know what they want. Which is frequent

@Callmewhatyouwill Awesome... I go to bars locally just to watch the bartender. I'll even switch up my seat to watch them interact.

Good ones never fail to entertain.

Plus they seem to seemlessly know any drink asked for.

Good stuff.

Thanks for your imput.

May I ask what took you outta that game?
@Bratt a combination of burn out and diminishing income.

The best way to learn is by doing, maybe getting a job there barbacking is a good feeder to it, also waitressing can lead in too
