I Like Spicy Food

A coworker brought in one of his home-grown Carolina Reapers today, and passed out small strips as a sample of coming attractions. He's putting some in his chili for the office chili cook-off on Thursday, and all I can say is.... wow.

That's a pretty damn spicy pepper. It's been 15 minutes and it was just a tiny sliver, but the burn is still there. At least no interns ended up in the break room crying like the last time he did this.

I enjoy spicy food and I don’t mind it if it makes me tear up or feel dizzy for a couple minutes but that level of spiciness sounds extreme.

@SW-User It's intense enough to stop someone for a few minutes. The poor intern got it caught between her teeth, panicked, and tried to get it out with water, which just spread the chili juices all around her mouth, and made it so much worse.

@FaeLuna Damn. Milk kinda helps but not water.

@SW-User Yeah, but I don't remember if we had any. In any case, she ran off and went straight for the water, and it was too late to help her then.

@FaeLuna beer and bread also helps for me.

@basilfawlty89 Oh, what I'd give for beer at the office!

@FaeLuna Eating other non spicy food helps too.
