We grow a lot of our own veggies, herbs and a few fruits,
but we also supplement from our nearest Farmers Market - a half hour drive into town on Wednesdays. Most of the growers are organic and permaculture.
The produce is cheaper, fresher, and tastier than anything from supermarkets.
We get apples and pears from the high plateau about 50 ks away,
and subtropical fruits locally.
I love and buy them all, but probably love the blueberries most - the sweetness, flavour - the anthocyanins (blue-black colour in skin and flesh) great for keeping weight under control.
Love yellow peaches and black cherries, but they're not gown locally so a rare treat.
