I actually eat at least one grapefruit a day, I honestly think it does you good. Over winter almost all my co-workers were ill with flu, apart from me...I'm convinced that the vitamin C from eating grapefruits prevented me from catching the bug.
The pink variety is my favourite, although I haven't seen any in the shops for several weeks now, and even white ones appear to be scarce.
