Making fries

I actually prefer doing it the hard way.

Wash, peel, wash again, cut, wash again, soak in water with cream of tartar, for half an hour. Wash again. Drain on a clean towel.

Finally they're ready for the pot. Put the potatoes into the pot, answer the phone, realize the fries have burned when the smoke detector goes off, throw them away, go for a walk.
