I asked a married lady out for fish 'n chips lunch on Thursday

She turned me down saying she has plans with a friend.
Does she really?
Or was she flat out rejecting the idea?
Big clue..she's married.😀

@TheSirfurryanimalWales what's that got to do with anything?
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
She doesn't have to explain anything to you she's married that's a boundary
cycleman · 61-69, M
@Justmeraeagain I'm not asking her out for a date!

I presume if its not work related, social activity related, she doesn't want to be in a situation where she gives you the impression she's open to cheating.

Accept this as rejection and a time to reflect on your dating choices...
I'll promote an unpopular idea, she could have just said she wasn't interested -or- instead planning time with her husband. Is apologizing for having a husband, new? I love how people here love to lump and moralize, while it might be obvious.
Maybe she's figured that it could be more trouble than it's worth???

Look at the general consensus on here... you can't even go out to dinner with people of the opposite sex without the idea popping up that you will both be jumping into bed together.

Try asking her and her husband out, im married but take a widow friend too the football match with permission of my wife, she as been asking who the man she was out with is, that could be why she turned you down, people talk

Are you in the habit of asking out married women and if so why? Or is it only this woman in particular that gave you some reason to ask her out.
If you do have this habit its one you might want to consider breaking because it can be bad for your health.

@cycleman I don't understand your reply. Hard to believe that you are terrified of asking a woman on a date but you asked a woman who is already married?
Why would you do whats there to be afraid of? Only rejection and after a few times it gets much easier.

@REMsleep she's a friend from work. Plain and simple

I am making the assumption she is not married to you....😷
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@cycleman Then with all due respect sir, you are a bounder and a cad. But I do hope at least the lady felt her ego validated by your attention.😷
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
@whowasthatmaskedman Most women would be disgusted not flattered.
cycleman · 61-69, M
@Justmeraeagain so disgusting to eat fish 'n chips with another friend?
black4white · 56-60, M
OR did you ever think she is not interested and being very polite... which is kudos to her.
cycleman · 61-69, M
@black4white i should've said a friend from work ....
black4white · 56-60, M
@cycleman yeah a person from work that is just a fire and rumors well before anything starts… don’t do it
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
I would be disappointed there would be no fish & chips! I would get some anyway :P
cycleman · 61-69, M
@JimboSaturn I went Nov 2nd and all the restaurants were closed. The fish area was shut down for a major hydro fixing.
But they ain't gonna be closed tomorrow. 🙂

You have to ask her.
cycleman · 61-69, M
@Zeusdelight I did and we talked about it last winter/spring. She was the one saying we should go.
Zeusdelight · 61-69, M
@cycleman Is that months or weeks ago? She may have forgotten the conversation.

I meant you should be asking her now, why she said no.
hunkalove · 61-69, M
Maybe she's allergic to fish?
Being married, she may not consider going out alone with another man appropriate. Her husband might not, either.

@Stereoguy a friend from work who told me a few times last winter I should've told her I was going, she would've joined me.
@Stereoguy Why can't a guy go out for dinner with a colleague???

Her marital status is rather irrelevant here - unless you happen to believe that all activities involving mixed genders is one massive orgy...

if she's leading you on she's a cock tease and has issues
CestManan · 46-50, F
@lumberjackslam I'm sitting here laughing but I wonder if you're serious. Like well my inbox be flooded with death threats and hateful messages just before people block me? I might be the reason that they all hate america. Some mean and hateful American called their fish and chips bullshit.
lumberjackslam · 41-45, M
@CestManan yep I'm serious they think it's some kind of cultural icon to defend to the last man
CestManan · 46-50, F
@lumberjackslam in defense though, I wouldn't mind some fish and chips because I'm sitting here eating a candy bar and drinking a green monster energy drink. Damn monster is not even cold. It still tastes like battery acid mixed with bullpiss which is fine because addiction does not discriminate
