Damn what country? Im betting in Asia its still a thing. Or maybe only in cities in the U.S.? Thats discrimination though. Call a lawyer?
@jehova i actually did get a delivery that day when i went somewhere else that wasn't engulfed in a heat map and occurred during off-peak hours. since i lacked mobile data and a delivery bag, it took longer for me to finish it and the app found my delivery suspicious so it prevented me from doing more. after contacting support and explained, they lifted that restriction but i still got paid regardless (no tips as it was fast food order)
Sadly because I'm legally considered to be an independent contractor, I can't exactly hold Uber liable as I would if they hired me as an employee (some countries like UK and Netherlands forced Uber to do so). And I'm from Canada, specifically within the province of Ontario near a major city that you can easily predict which. If you never knew, the algorithms prioritize driver couriers in suburban and semi-rural areas while only in urban areas are biker couriers more prioritized.
