I love the smell of carcinogens in the morning!!

I rarely drink coffee.
I might drink it every once-in-a-blue-moon, but I'm not a habitual coffee drinker.

@Sidewinder Good model for everyone basically.
Who doesn't? Especially over a morning Bible reading.

I thought the tiny carcinogenic risk was only for the decaff coff?

@H1raeth So do I, but there was a documentary some years ago on how coffee is decaffeinated involving all sorts of chemicals and it gave me pause for thought. However, the medical advice I've received is that for those for whom caffeine is a problem, decaff is best. I don't think that there is a moral aspect to drinking it, but when I have coffee in my church I often ask for 'de-consecrated coffee': it makes those who haven't heard the joke 120 times before smile.

@FreddieUK indeed, most coffee is decaffeinated using methylene chloride, which can be carcinogenic in high doses, but currently the residue left by it is thought to be within acceptable levels

GMO food is forced on us, coffee is of very little interest.

I thought everything is tinily carcinogenic

the amount of acrylamide produced in roasting is too low to pose any threat, and roasting simutaneously breaks down other possible carcinogens; moreover coffee has antioxidants aiding cancer prevention
at the same time, I do love the smell of mutiple carcinogens, notably tobacco cigars and pipe tobacco, hundreds of wine varietals, gin, aged rum, peated whisky, and more
the fact than anything which smells pleasing to many humans is also something which can harm their health is evidence against existence being an "intelligent design" bestowed by a "benevolent" creator — if a deity was actually benevolent, and competent at designing existence, they would only want their creations to be happy, and they would make it impossible, by design, for their creations to ever do anything worthy of punishment ... the alternative scenario is a blatantly clumsy narrative concocted by humans to try to rationalize all the contradictions in their base concoction of deities
