@helenS I worked with a guy years ago who hadn't smoked for about 20 years. Everytime the rest of us lit up, he'd reach in his pocket for his smokes. Said that he still felt the cravings.

@Bushranger Yes nicotine is a very powerful drug. Now that first world countries follow a strict non-smoking policy the tobacco industry focuses on 3rd world countries. Successfully.

@Bushranger Once upon a time, cigarette packets in Australia used to have a display of the average annual deaths of people from different substances. Tobacco accounted for more deaths than the sum of all the illicit drugs listed. Alcohol was the next highest.
