I used to grow the kombucha mushrooms in the 90's. Used 4 quart glass bowls and kept them covered with cheesecloth in the closet for the duration. The resulting tea was excellent tasting. Problem was the excessive sugar. Not sure what process is used to make the one on your table in the photo, but it is good stuff! Yes, that cake does look good.
@rfatoday i have not researched a lot about making your own kombucha. i'm assuming it's much like brewing alcohol (i don't drink) and surely there must be a lot of factors to consider?
