I just realized, with horror, that --

There was a plant similar to the cacao (chocolate). Actually had it back in the 1970s. My sister in-law was a health nut back then. I have no idea where she got it, nor where that type of candy can be found in the USA today.

Must stress it really doesn't taste exactly like chocolate, just vaguely similar. The candy wasn't bad tasting though. Kind of liked it. It does look pretty much like chocolate candy.

The plant was native to both ancient Greece and Egypt...

@DeWayfarer Carob has been available around here for quite a while. It does have a similar taste, but it is [b]not[/b] chocolate!!
